Striking miners on a forced march leaving Bisbee, Arizona. On July 11th and 12th, 1917, 1,186 IWW members were removed from their homes and forced to march to the local train depot, where they were put on trains destined for the undeveloped deserts of New Mexico. James Brew, a miner who resisted the deportation, was killed by the local sheriff.
