BA Admissions

Admissions Requirements

Applicants may be admitted to the College in one of three ways - with full admission provisionally, or as special students.

If it is determined that a person has at least 56 hours of credit earned either through College attendance or experiential learning, he/she may be granted full admission.

Students who do not meet the 56 credit-hour requirement, but hold a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) may be admitted provisionally. Provisionally admitted students will be advised by College administrators as to the appropriate steps need to achieve full admission to the program.

In addition, students who are over age 55 and do not hold a high school diploma or equivalency may be admitted as special students. Special students are limited to one course per term.

Admission to the National Labor College is determined without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, status as a qualified person with a disability or handicap, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Pre-Admissions Advising

Pre-admissions advising is provided to all interested applicants. Pre-admissions advising sessions are an opportunity for students to ask questions about the program, air concerns regarding returning to school and potential academic shortcomings, and review transfer credits for acceptability.

An in-person meeting or telephone conference can be arranged. The National Labor College has a toll free number, 1-800-GMC-4CDP. Evening and weekend conferences can be arranged to accommodate our working students. There is no fee for these sessions and all potential students are encouraged to make use of the service.

After admission has been granted, students are further advised by the faculty and staff on their program of instruction and any remedial work which may be required.
