Negotiation chronology: July 1935, initial conference between BSCP and Pullman; December 1935, BSCP withdraws from direct negotiations and appeals to National Mediation Board; January 1936, Mediation Board appoints Robert Cole; April 1937, Pullman agrees to renew negotiations with BSCP; August 25, 1937, Pullman signs its first contract with BSCP -- twelve years to the day after BSCP's creation; effective October 1, 1937, the contract covered wages, hours and working rules.
