The Pullman Porters Benefit Association (PPBA) was the insurance and fraternal arm of the Employees Representation Plan (ERP), the Pullman Company's union established in 1920. The BSCP sought to obtain control of, rather than destroy, the PPBA, for its insurance phase was "sound and should be adhered to."
